Bee at work harvesting the nectar from this yellow flower.
Bees collect pollen and nectar from the flowers as food for their entire colony, as they do they pollinate plants. They are very necessary in the cycle of life. Without bees much of our food supply would disappear. I enjoy watching them flit from flower to flower. It's no wonder we hear the terminology "as busy as bees".
